Biography
Ludmila Rogel was born in Mendoza. She worked as an assistant director on “Not Drowning, Waving” (2012) and on “Deseo” (FICCI 2014), and as the Art Director for “Mala letra” (Bafici 2015). She has lived in Ushuaia since 2015 and works at the National University of Tierra del Fuego. In 2017 and 2018, she developed and wrote “Misterios Submarinos” (Underwater Mysteries), a science series for children (Japan Prize 2019, among others). In 2017, she wrote the screenplay for the historical documentary “Presidio. Experimento Ushuaia” (Prison. Ushuaia Experiment) (Nuevas Miradas). In 2019, she became a mother to Roma. In 2021, she co-directed “No Binario” (Non-Binary), about LGBTQ+ rights (Japan Prize nomination, TAL). All of these were broadcast on Canal Encuentro and Paka Paka. She is finishing her novel “Matanegra.” Since 2022, she has been developing her first feature-length documentary, “Lola y Anne,” about the archives of anthropologist Anne Chapman.
