Biography

My name is Florencia Carrasco, but I'm known through my work as Flo Nutopia, which is also the name of my clothing brand. I was born in Buenos Aires, specifically in Florencio Varela. I lived for 8 years in the city of La Plata, where I pursued my studies at the School of Theatre, graduating with a Technical Degree in Theatre Set and Costume Design (2019). I also took advanced costume courses at Espacio Buenos Aires (CABA, 2017) and at the art school of the Teatro Argentino (La Plata, 2017), as well as Fashion Production at Plushlamour (CABA, 2020). I completed up to the third year of the Fine Arts program at the Faculty of Arts in La Plata. During those years, I developed professionally by participating in various music videos, thesis films, short films, and plays as an art director and costume designer. My most notable works include "Algo que pasó en año nuevo" (Something That Happened on New Year's Eve) (2022) directed by Jorge Pinarello, where I designed and created the costumes. It premiered at the Mar del Plata Film Festival of the same year. "Trance" (2022), a fantastic horror short film directed by Germán Lopez, in which I participated as the art director and costume designer. It premiered privately as it continues to travel to various festivals around the world. "Saint Catherine" (2023), a horror film directed by Gonzalo Mellid and produced by Black Mandala. I designed and made the costumes. It is soon to be released. "La fantasma" (The Ghost) (2023), a sensory theatre play directed by Lucia Uncal and Regina Cupo, where I participated as a costume consultant. "Como un río correntoso" (Like a Rushing River) (2023) directed by Agustin Recondo, where I created the set design and costumes alongside Carolina Simonetti. Currently (2024), I am living in the city of Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego, where I teach in the costume workshop at the Julio Verne secondary school. At the same time, I am participating in the creation of a play to be premiered with the Tres x Tres theatre group.
