The city of Tolhuin, or “city in the middle,” is about 100 km from the city of Ushuaia (1.5 hours) and about 110 km (1.4 hours) from the city of Río Grande, via National Route No. 3 . It has an average of 6,000 inhabitants. This place is surrounded by the Patagonian Andean forest, in a transition zone between the Andes mountain range and the Fuegian steppe, known as the ecotone. It is located at the head of Kami Lake (or Fagnano Lake). It has supermarkets, food houses, and different types of accommodations.
