TIERRA DEL FUEGO NATIONAL PARK

Tierra del Fuego National Park is the only national park in Argentina located between the mountains and the sea. The park protects 68,909 hectares of marine, forest, and mountain environments, and also features lakes, valleys, and considerable peat bogs. The forests are dominated by tall deciduous beech, evergreen beech, and low deciduous beech trees. It is home to native species such as the red fox and birds like the kelp goose, the upland goose, the black-browed albatross, the southern steamer duck, the Magellanic woodpecker, and the Patagonian thrush, among others. Tierra del Fuego National Park is located 12 km west of Ushuaia, along National Route No. 3. Some areas are set for camping, but availability must be confirmed with the park administration. The use of stoves, gas canisters, heaters, or other combustion devices is only allowed in camping areas.
