Fuegian forests resemble a fairytale landscape. Flag trees growing by the channel, centuries-old trees clinging their roots to the mountain rocks, and young trees growing along the paths. The predominant species are tall deciduous beech and low deciduous beech trees, which paint the mountain in reds and ochres before shedding their leaves, and evergreen beech that remain green all year round.
