Valdez River Nature Reserve is a protected natural area in this province located on the southeastern coast of Kami Lake -or Fagnano Lake. It has an extensive network of roads accessible from National Route No. 3, as the area was previously used for forestry. A section of the old National Route 3 runs along the coast of Kami Lake, leading to Del Indio Lake. Aguas Blancas Lake is in the southeast of the reserve; the access road leads to the Jeujepén Mountain viewpoint with a panoramic view of the reserve. It is managed by the Secretariat of Environment, Sustainable Development, and Climate Change of the Government of the Province of Tierra del Fuego, Antártida e Islas del Atlántico Sur, under the General Directorate of Protected Areas and Biodiversity. The city of Tolhuin is very close to the Valdez River Nature Reserve making it a logistical base for large productions.
